“Women and children first” is a code of conduct dating from 1852, whereby the lives of women and children were to be saved first in a life-threatening situation, typically abandoning ship, when survival resources such as lifeboats were limited.
Join the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy and the Oklahoma Women’s coalition on the first day of the 2019 Legislative Session! Be prepared for what is sure to be a crucial and exciting year with this advocacy training and State of the State Address watch party. Hear from key community leaders, issue experts, and legislators from both sides of the aisle as they highlight the most important issues facing Oklahomans in 2019. Now is the time to learn how to influence policymakers to make the right decisions to move our state forward.
We invite you to join us as we break down the legislative process, share tips on crafting your message, and provide ways to engage with lawmakers on issues important to you.
Registration is only $20 and includes breakfast, lunch, and refreshments.
