In September, our club hosted a charming Tea Party for prospective new members, and the afternoon was nothing short of delightful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautifully decorated tables featuring whimsical teapots, dainty plates, and elegant cups that captured the spirit of a traditional tea gathering.
What made the day especially meaningful was the teamwork of our members. Every woman in our club took on a task-whether it was food preparation, decorating, or helping with set-up and clean-up. The spirit of cooperation shone through, and the result was an event that
truly reflected the heart of GFWC: women coming together in friendship and service.
The menu was as lovely as the décor. Guests enjoyed cream puffs, delicate macaroons, crackers with jam, buttery shortbread cookies, hot and cold teas sweetened with honey, chicken salad sandwiches, pimento cheese sandwiches, cucumber sandwiches, freshly
baked scones, and an array of cookies and sweets. The spread provided plenty of conversation starters and created the perfect setting for fellowship.
A highlight of the afternoon was the presentations that showcased our club’s purpose and impact. Members gave overviews of our “Done in a Day” activities, shared details about our ongoing project supporting a tiny home for the homeless, and offered a brief history lesson about the legacy of GFWC. These presentations helped our guests better understand the breadth of opportunities for service and connection available through membership.
We were thrilled to welcome seven prospective members to the tea. While final membership decisions are still pending, we are hopeful that many will choose to join our community of dedicated women.
