GFWC Oklahoma Northeast District Meeting

GFWC Oklahoma Northeast District held their annual meeting on Saturday, Nov. 1. The meeting, held in Pryor,  was hosted by the GFWC-OK Monday Forum Club of Pryor.

The GFWC Oklahoma Northeast District is made up of five clubs: La-Kee-Kon of Nowata; Heeko Club of Pawhuska; Monday Forum Club of Pryor, Pa-A-Linn Club of Haskell and The Silver Foxes Club of Tulsa.

Speakers for the day were Charlene Ridgway, GFWC Oklahoma State President and Jody Moore, Executive Director of Safenet Services.  (https://www.safenetservices.org/)  with locations in Pryor and Claremore, Safenet services mission is to create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for individuals and families healing from the consequences of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Jody Moore provided statistics for the group that showed Oklahoma as # 2 in the nation for domestic violence reported incidents and # 1 in the nation for domestic violence related deaths.  She talked about the support that her organization provides both for counseling and for providing safe escapes for people in domestic violence situations in Rogers and Mayes Counties in Oklahoma.

Carroll Craun and Debbie Fink, representing GFWC-OK La-Kee-Kon Club provided a heartfelt memorial to long-time club member, Caryl Bell.

Election results for the 2026-2028 Northeast District officers was presented with a installation ceremony scheduled for the spring of 2026.

Lunch was provided by the women of the GFWC-OK Monday Forum Club.
